Equal Opportunity & Discrimination Prevention Office
The Equal Opportunity & Discrimination Prevention (EODP) Office of provides a variety of standard and customized training programs to help faculty and staff understand, prevent and respond to discrimination, harassment and equity in work and academic environments. We highlight the latest campus and system-wide trends and provide information related to relevant policies and procedures regarding discrimination and harassment.
The training workshops offered by the EODP Office are open to all campus employees and departments.
- Diversity & Inclusion Training - These interactive presentations focus on various aspects of diversity including, but not limited to racism, sexism, ableism, socio-economic differences and religion. During these sessions, experienced facilitators lead small group discussions highlighting one of the “isms” and allowing participants to share their experiences and insights in a safe environment. These sessions are available to campus departments and have been presented to Intercollegiate Athletics, Facilities Management, and Housing staff.
- Search Committee Briefings – These briefings address a Search Committee’s role and responsibilities under the Campus Affirmative Action Plan to address equal opportunity and to engage in active and effective good faith efforts to address our campus’ placement goals. The briefings also address the role and impact of unconscious or implicit bias in the search process and the various methods to lessen this impact. Campus resources which may help to attract a diverse pool of candidates are also identified.
